Course in the Master Module Financial Accounting

Integrated Reporting

Course Description

Integrated reporting is one of the latest profound global developments in corporate reporting which has the potential to considerably change managerial and external accounting practices.

  • In a first part, the master course Integrated Reporting (lecture and tutorial) makes students familiar with the key concepts of this new reporting format which seeks to provide a more holistic view on a firm’s value creation than classical financial reporting and/or stand-alone sustainability reporting. The students gain deeper insights in the challenges of non-financial reporting and how to consider non-financial firm characteristics in corporate and stakeholder decision-making.
  • In a second part of the course Integrated Reporting, the participants become familiar with the regulations of the framework developed by the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) which is the de facto global standard setter in the field of integrated reporting.
