Research-Oriented Teaching

The Professorship of Empirical Accounting promotes students on all levels to successfully deal with the empirical challenges of international accounting (e.g., fair value measurement in IFRS financial statements) and of empirical accounting and finance research (e.g., studying the economic consequences of regulatory reforms). Specifically, we offer mentoring programs and the following four courses.

  • Bachelor level: Empirische Rechnungslegungsforschung (no longer offered)
  • Master level: Applied Empirical Accounting Research (each winter semester)
  • Doctoral level: Methods of Empirical Accounting Research (each winter semester)
  • Doctoral level: Measurement of Accounting Phenomena (each summer semester)
