Bachelor Thesis

 

The Professorship of Empirical Accounting is part of the Area Accounting and Taxation of the University of Cologne. We participate in the faculty-wide Bachelor Thesis administration system which incorporates the idea to provide students and teachers a balance between the individualism of each candidate and the capacity constraints of each professorship.

The faculty uses a two-steps application process. In a first step, each candidate has to apply for an area of the faculty (e.g., the Area Accounting and Taxation). In a second step, all candidates that receive an admission for the Area Accounting and Taxation have the possibility to hand in a short application for a specific professorship of the area. Then, given the current capacities of each unit, the professors of the area jointly decide about the assignment of each candidate to a professorship and/or topic. All relevant details on the content, administration, and requirements of Bachelor Thses at the Professorship of Empirical Accounting are provided in the in internally available KLIPS systems.
